How to Use the Area Information Tab

 Our Area Information tab takes the place of the former "Local Info and Things to Do" part of our website.  We are going to continue to expand and improve this great resource, but there's already a lot of wonderful information for you as you plan your trip to our area.  

Cape San Blas Lighthouse When you click on the Area Information Tab, you'll be taken to an initial screen.  You'll see some attractions and businesses that have been populated at random.  From that main screen, you can tailor your selections by following the steps below:

  • The drop-down arrow by -Category- will reveal specific choices.  If you're looking for area restaurants, mouse down to select "Restaurant" and then click "update" just off to the right.
  • Now your list is narrowed down to restaurants.  You can page through the selections using the "Previous 1 2 3 Next" on the right-hand upper corner of the page.  
  • If a listing is of interest to you, click on the name or the photo associated with that listing.
  • Now you're at the main page for that listing.  There you can see the distance to several of the units, and you can zoom the map in or out, change it to satellite, etc., and even click through to a property from the map itself.
  • You can use the back arrow on your browser to get out of a specific listing and return to the search results.

If you want to go back to all listings or search another category, use the drop-down box and arrow again.  To see them all reselect -Category- and then click "update."  To search another category, follow the steps above that we used to select restaurants before.

On the business or activity's individual listing page, we've given you their relevant contact information and a link to their website if they have one.  We also have photographs if we've got some available.  

We're working on a printer-friendly version of these listings so you can print them off to take with you on your vacation (but we have internet at our units so you can always browse them once you arrive too!)

If there's a business or recreational activity you'd like to see added, please email us and we'll do our best to add the listing. If you have photographs from a particular place or establishment you want to share, send them along and we'll try to get them added (be sure you have permission and rights to share, however!)

If you've never been to the area before, you really will learn a lot browsing through this section of the site.  Even if you're a regular visitor and familiar with a lot of the businesses and activities, take a minute to catch up on changes or additions as you begin your activity planning!

It's definitely not too early to start booking your vacation for Spring Break or Summer.  Pick your unit and dates now while selection is the best!  Book online or give us a call and we'll get your reservation handled promptly.  And don't forget we're running a buy 2 nights get 1 free for a weekend winter getaway as well!
