Unobstructed views of the water in both directions make this home a true gulf-front paradise. Watch the dolphins play from the screened porch or watch a pelican squadron head south for their morning hunt. If you are an early riser and visit in the off-season, you may just see a coyote trotting along the shoreline on his way toward the state park.
Beach Cliff is designed with a family in mind. Tile floors in the living and kitchen area and hardwoods in both bedrooms on the first level make it easier to keep clean during your stay. The living room furniture is comfortable, and there's even a few bean bag chairs for lounging while you watch a movie from the DVD selection or one you've brought with you.
The layout of the house begins with the parking level, where you'll find the utility room with beach chairs, floats, toys -- what we call the "community beach box" area. A full-sized washer and dryer, and gas grill are also found in the utility room. The ground level also has a wooden deck with benches. There are two picnic tables, a clothesline for wet bathing suits, and an enclosed shower with hot/cold water.
On the first floor is the living room, fully equipped and roomy eat-in kitchen, a large master bedroom with king bed and private bath and a second queen bedroom as well as a second bath. The favorite feature of this level with our guests is our screened porch, complimented by a large sundeck. Patio furniture and outdoor lounging furniture are available for you to use and enjoy.
Up the spiral staircase you'll find two more bedrooms -- the loft has been enclosed and offers a queen sleeper sofa (bunk beds will be added before season). The upstairs gulf-front queen bedroom has a private balcony overlooking the gulf and a telescope for stargazing at night. This level is finished off with a large full bathroom.
We rented this house primarily for our youngest sons wedding...It was absolutely perfect...tons of beach chairs, toys, The kitchen is better equipped then my own home...fabulous views, everything you could possibly want or need is just a stone throw away at the little convenience stores...It's a perfect house for a family get away...Our doggies loved it and it's quiet and a good place to get away from everything! Laurel the owner has left nothing to the imagination...everything you need is in this house...The sunsets and moon watching with the telescope were wonderful...Thanks for a wonderful week!
Awesome location, great layout. Good to see new knives. Coffee pot/deck chairs/electronics need upgrading. Internet and therefore phone was very poor during our stay, but were no issue at all the year before. My wife would have liked glass wine glasses for inside - I disagree.
Hi, Fred! New coffee pot in place as of 1/27. (There were also two extras in the closets, though -- did you not see them?) 8 new glass wine glasses in place as well. We try to keep both plastic and glass (some folks like chocolate and some like vanilla, right?) The three remaining sun loungers will either be added to or replaced for season. On the internet, the trouble number for mediacom is in the book. Anytime a guest has an issue with it, please just give them a call and they should respond promptly. Not sure what electronics you are referencing. The televisions, dvd player, etc., are only three years old. Technology does move quickly, but we probably won't replace the flat screens for another year at least. Hope to have you back again soon.
If one is looking for a true beach get away, Beach Cliff is the perfect place. There are miles of beautiful beach to walk on. I estimate that there is about 15 miles of beach if you want to walk all the way to the point in the Port St. Joe State Park. The house Beach Cliff is decorated just perfectly for a beach house. The furniture is comfortable and creates a very relaxed environment. Beach Cliff has Wi-Fi so staying in touch with friends and family via email is easy. Beach Cliff has a web cam just in case you would like to focus it on those with you on the beach an folks back home can see all of you having great fun on the beach. My family would love to live there full time. One of the items in the house that is very useful ? is the Knotical Weather Guide. I found it very useful in weather forecasting. While there are many house rentals along Cape San Blas, there are no large commercial high-rise developments. So you never have to deal with crowded beaches. There are no large souvenir shops on Cape San Blas and for me that is a big plus. No large crowds with traffic jams and such that you have in places like Panama City, San Destin, Destin and Pensacola. There is a small charter fishing fleet at Port St. Joe for anyone who would like to do some fishing out in the Gulf. Red Snapper season opens on the 1st of June and the fishing is great. In addition to the charter fishing fleet there are also rental pontoon boats large and small for families to rent and explore the bay and surrounding shore lines. My wife and daughter love to hunt sea shells and in most cases that requires some small amount of digging in the sand on the beach. It can sometimes be rewarding in the beautiful shells that can be found. Some people seem to have a knack for knowing where to dig. The wife and daughter have it but I do not.
I found the Cape in 2006 while doing an internet search for places we could go and take our dogs...I rented Beach Cliff strickly from the pictures and reviews..never had done that before...but I just took the chance...not once was I dissapointed with my decision and we will be going for our 4th time in 6 years this winter. The Eihlers are wonderful to work with, the house is always spotless, never have needed a single thing that was not supplied..the view is to die for...the dogs love it...we now say to them do you want to go to the beach?...and they run to the door like, lets go!..We have got to know the area well...we have found our favorite restaurants...Tucans in Mexico beach a mere 15 minute drive is probably our favorite..sunset coastal grill is another one...we like to make the drive to panama city a few times as well, where if your lucky enough to be at the right time you can watch the air force fighter jets practicing...wow that is a treat! We have had family come down to visit while we were there and we told them, if the night life if what your looking for, this may not be the place for you...but if you want to relax, enjoy nature in its most beautiful setting, and have your furry friends join you on vacation...then this is the place you have to be.
